Heidi Montag Pratt, 38, and Spencer Pratt, 41, are opening up about their present living arrangements following their displacement by the destructive Los Angeles wildfires that started in early January 2025. The married couple, since 2008, are among thousands of people who had their homes destroyed by the widespread fires.
Living with Loss and Emotional Struggle
In a Feb. 22 interview with E! News, Spencer Pratt acknowledged the price the experience has cost their family. “I’d say ‘not good’ is the truthful answer. The past two days have been the most difficult for some reason. I don’t know if Heidi was processing earlier than I was, and I was so concentrated on Heidi’s success with her music that I didn’t have time to reflect on our circumstance,” he told them.
The couple shares two children, Gunner, 7, and Ryker, 2. In the aftermath of the fires, Spencer threw himself into promoting Heidi’s 2010 album, Superficial, to his growing TikTok following of 2.1 million. This effort helped push the 15-year-old album to No. 1 on iTunes in January 2025.
Even with this surprise success, the grief of losing their home is still fresh. “It’s still so fresh,” Heidi said. “It feels sort of like old news to everybody.” But to her and her family, there’s a long way to go, and it’s going to take years to get their life back. And hopefully, we can.

Giving Back to the Community
In spite of their own ordeal, the couple has been going out of their way to assist those who were victimized by the wildfires. One of their efforts was conducting a Los Angeles fire relief workout class with Training Mate, which is a trendy workout group. “It puts things into perspective,” Heidi said.
Spencer also shared the same sentiment, pointing out community support. “It’s going to take so many people to really bring the Palisades community back and support all the small businesses,” he said.
Training Mate founder Luke Milton commended the couple’s commitment to relief work. “Heidi and Spencer have been the complete leaders of creating some good out of such a horrific accident,” Milton said. “When the chance arose through our circle of friends, we grabbed it. And anything we can do to support these guys in their efforts to make the world a better place, we’re just all in.
Celebrity Influence and Recovery
Wildfires have caused displacement of most of Southern California’s high-profile residents, among them Tyra Banks, Joshua Jackson, Billy Crystal, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Candy Spelling, Mel Gibson, Anthony Hopkins, Milo Ventimiglia, and Paris Hilton.
With efforts towards recovery going on, help from the surrounding community and major personalities such as Heidi and Spencer is crucial to assisting Los Angeles in rebuilding and recovering from the historic tragedy.
