Tragic Crime: Man Accused of Killing Woman and 2-Year-Old, Then Jumping from Window

A man from New Hampshire has been accused of fatally stabbing a woman and a two-year-old child, who police believe were his girlfriend and young son. Authorities identified the adult victim as Hailey Miller. The tragic incident occurred at an apartment complex on Meloy Road, where police responded just before 9 p.m. after receiving reports of screaming from the unit. Shortly after, emergency calls were made reporting that a man had jumped through a second-floor glass window.

West Haven Police Sergeant Scott Allard stated that Miller was in a relationship with the suspect, and the deceased child is believed to be his son. The suspect, 26-year-old Jevon Tyrese Fletcher, has been charged with two counts of murder, two counts of murder with special circumstances, and one count of risk of injury to a minor. He was released from medical treatment on Tuesday morning and shortly after appeared in state Superior Court for a video arraignment. The court ordered him to be held on a $3 million bond. It is currently unclear whether Fletcher has retained legal representation.

During the hearing, the judge ordered Fletcher to have no contact with any members of the victims’ families or any potential witnesses. Authorities continue to investigate the case, and Fletcher is scheduled for his next court appearance on March 13.

Miller was known in her community as a compassionate and dedicated individual. She was an aspiring nursing student and was deeply devoted to her young son, Jaxon. According to her cousin, Nicolette Nealy, Miller was incredibly intelligent, caring, and forgiving. She was described as a bright presence in the lives of those who knew her.

In the wake of the tragedy, Miller’s family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral expenses and raise funds for Jaxon’s future. The case has drawn significant attention as friends, family, and the local community mourn the loss of Miller and her son.

Efforts to reach the West Haven Police Department for further comments were unsuccessful at press time.
