1 Dead, 4 Injured After Jets Collide at Scottsdale Airport

One person has died and four others were injured after a Bombardier Learjet 35A crashed into a Gulfstream 200 at Scottsdale Airport. The accident occurred around 2:45 p.m. local time when the Learjet, arriving from Austin, Texas, veered off Runway 21 upon landing.

According to initial reports, the Learjet’s left main landing gear failed, causing it to collide with the parked Gulfstream, which was on private property.

Casualties and Response

One person died on impact, according to authorities. Emergency crews worked into the evening to recover the victim’s remains. Two individuals are in critical condition and were transported to local trauma centers, while another was hospitalized with less severe injuries. A fourth person declined treatment.

Jet Pros, the operator of the Gulfstream, confirmed that no one was aboard their parked aircraft at the time of impact. While the plane suffered external damage, there were no injuries related to the Gulfstream crew. The company extended its condolences to those affected and stated that they are fully cooperating with authorities.

Airport Closure and Investigation

All flights at Scottsdale Airport were initially suspended but resumed operations six hours after the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has taken over the investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

Mayor’s Statement

Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky expressed condolences to the victims and thanked emergency responders for their swift actions.
