YouTube star Samay Raina is currently in hot water with the Maharashtra state cyber police, who have denied his request for more time to join an investigation involving an “obscene joke” made by fellow content creator Ranveer Allahbadia during Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent.Raina’s lawyer had asked the cyber police for an extension because Raina is traveling abroad.
Unfortunately for him, the police weren’t accommodating and issued a second summons, instructing him to appear before them on February 17.This whole situation kicked off after a rather controversial episode of India’s Got Latent. In that episode, Allahbadia posed a shocking question to a contestant: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?” The joke didn’t sit well with many people, leading to a wave of criticism from netizens, celebrities, politicians, and the general public.

The backlash was significant enough that the Assam police were the first to file a complaint, soon followed by the Maharashtra cyber police. As a result, the police summoned Raina, Allahbadia, influencer Apoorva Mukhija, and a bunch of other artists and creators linked to the show.
So far, none of the accused have gone in to speak with the police, although some have sent their lawyers to handle the situation. The police have also reached out to YouTube, asking them to remove all episodes of Raina’s show that contain any objectionable content. On Wednesday, Raina took to social media to announce that he had taken down all the India’s Got Latent videos from his channel.
He also expressed his willingness to cooperate fully with the authorities to help wrap up their investigations fairly.Meanwhile, Allahbadia has already posted a video apologizing for the “insensitive jokes” he made.
It seems both content creators are trying to navigate this tricky situation while facing public scrutiny. The investigation continues, and fans are left to wonder how this will unfold for Raina, Allahbadia, and the rest of the crew involved.
