Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is recovering in a Mumbai hospital after a frightening incident at his Bandra West home early Thursday morning. Around 2:30 AM, while Saif and his wife, Kareena Kapoor, were sleeping, a robber broke into their home. Other family members were also present at the time.
According to sources from Lilavati Hospital, Saif was attacked by the intruder and suffered six injuries, two of them severe. One of the injuries is dangerously close to his spine. “He was brought to the hospital around 3:30 AM,” the source said. “Right now, a team of specialists, including neurosurgeon Dr. Nitin Dange and cosmetic surgeon Dr. Leena Jain, is performing surgery. We’ll know more about the extent of the injuries once the procedure is complete.”
Saif’s team released a statement addressing the situation. “There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently undergoing surgery and receiving medical care. We request patience from the media and fans, as this is now a police matter. Updates will be provided as needed.”
