On Thursday, January 30th, Lady Gaga delivered a heartfelt performance at the FireAid benefit concert, closing the star-studded event with the debut of a brand-new song, All We Need Is Time, co-written with her fiancé, Michael Polansky. The song, dedicated to the victims of the recent Los Angeles wildfires, struck a chord with the audience, offering a message of hope and healing.
Held across two venues—the Kia Forum and the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California—the FireAid concert brought together some of music’s biggest names, including Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Katy Perry, and Tate McRae, to raise funds for wildfire relief and rebuilding efforts in affected communities.
Gaga took the stage as the final performer of the night, opening her set with two iconic tracks from A Star Is Born: Shallow, performed without duet partner Bradley Cooper, and Always Remember Us This Way. The latter, with its poignant lyrics about loss and remembrance, echoed the evening’s themes of resilience and recovery.
Before performing her new song, Gaga addressed the crowd, saying, “Me and my friend Michael—my fiancé, my love—we wrote this song for you. It’s just for tonight. It’s just for you. I think we all need a lot of things right now, but I think something we may also need is time. Time is a healer.”
The upbeat yet reflective track, with its repeating chorus “All I need is time,” resonated deeply with the audience. By the end of the performance, Gaga led the crowd in a powerful sing-along, creating a moment of unity and catharsis.
The FireAid concert also featured a surprise opening duet by Billie Eilish and Green Day, who performed Last Day on Earth, setting the tone for an evening of music and solidarity. The event encouraged donations to wildfire relief funds, with Connie and Steve Ballmer, owners of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers and the Intuit Dome, pledging to match every donation made during the concert.
Lady Gaga’s appearance at FireAid comes ahead of her highly anticipated performance at the Grammy Awards this weekend, where she is nominated for Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her collaboration with Bruno Mars, Die With a Smile. Fans can also look forward to more new music from Gaga, as she prepares to release her upcoming album, Mayhem, in March.
