Jack Del Rio, the former NFL head coach, has just landed a new job as the head coach of the Paris Musketeers in the European League of Football. At 61 years old, Del Rio has a lot of experience under his belt, having coached in the NFL for over a decade with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders. Though his overall record stands at 93-94, he did guide his teams to the playoffs three times. Now, he’s ready to take on a fresh challenge in Paris.
The Musketeers are excited to have him on board. CEO John McKeon expressed his enthusiasm, saying Del Rio’s dedication to the game and his coaching skills will help strengthen the team’s culture. The Musketeers hope Del Rio will build on the work of the team’s first coach, Marc Mattioli, who set a strong foundation with a 16-8 record before leaving for another coaching position.

Del Rio’s coaching career recently included a stint as the defensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders, where he worked from 2020 to 2023. Afterward, he was a senior advisor at Wisconsin but left that role after a car accident. Despite this setback, he’s eager to get back into coaching with the Musketeers, saying he’s excited to work with his new team, teaching, developing, and competing at the highest level.
The Musketeers had a great season in 2024, finishing 10-2 in the regular season and making it to the semifinals. Now, under Del Rio’s leadership, they’re aiming even higher. Their 2025 season kicks off on May 17, with a tough match against the defending champions, the Rhein Fire.
It’s a new chapter for Del Rio, and the Musketeers are hopeful his experience and leadership will bring them success on the field.
