Bad Bunny might be known for his music, but his passion for professional wrestling is no secret. The Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, recently shared his thoughts on returning to the WWE ring, even if it gives his mom, Lysaurie Ocasio, a reason to worry.
At 30 years old, Bad Bunny has already made a mark in WWE with four exciting appearances, but he’s itching for more. “I want to do it again,” he told Rolling Stone. “I want to put my life on the line in the ring. I feel like I didn’t take enough risks last time, and I want to change that. I want to scare my mom. When will it happen? I don’t know.”
The Puerto Rican star hasn’t stepped away completely—he’s still closely watching WWE events and staying in touch with its team. “We keep an eye on everything. I just need the right time to really train and prepare, like I did before. I want to give it my all,” he explained.
Bad Bunny even dreams of going all-in on wrestling. “Sometimes I think, ‘What if I quit music and just do wrestling full time?’” he said. “I’d love to be a heel—the villain. I always liked the bad guys more than the heroes.”
The artist also took pride in bringing WWE to his home turf in Puerto Rico for 2023’s Backlash. “It felt good for everyone, including WWE,” he said. “I think it opened their eyes because now they’re hosting events in places like France and Mexico. They realized it works.”
Bad Bunny’s WWE journey began in February 2021, when he claimed the 24/7 Championship against Akira Tozawa. He then teamed up with Damien Priest at WrestleMania 37 to take down The Miz and John Morrison. Fans saw him again in 2023 for WrestleMania 39 and the Puerto Rican Backlash, where he defeated Priest in a San Juan Street Fight.
Despite his busy wrestling ambitions, Bad Bunny hasn’t slowed down in music. Over the past three years, he’s released multiple albums, including the Grammy-winning Un Verano Sin Ti. His latest project, Debí Tirar Más Fotos, dropped on January 5, proving that he’s balancing both worlds with unstoppable energy.
