A 35-year-old man from Las Vegas, Timothy Sahrang La, has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his father, claiming that aliens instructed him to do so. The incident occurred on February 5, when paramedics were called to the family’s home on Caprock Canyon Avenue. They found 73-year-old Eun Jin La unconscious in the master bedroom and initially believed his death was from natural causes.
However, when police arrived, they became suspicious and contacted the homicide unit. La’s mother, who had made the emergency call, told police that her son lived with them but had left for work earlier in the day. She also mentioned that her son had a medical condition, although the details were not provided.
Detectives later learned that Timothy shot his father while they were inside the home and then left the scene. He returned to the house later and was arrested by officers. When questioned, Timothy claimed that aliens had told him to kill his father. He also said he was “saving someone” and believed a “worker” was being tortured, who he described as wearing the skin of his father’s face. Timothy said he felt like he was “on a different planet” during the incident.
Police found a 9mm gun and casing at the house, and detectives confirmed that the victim died from a gunshot wound. Timothy La was charged with open murder with a deadly weapon and was denied bail. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
This case follows another shocking shooting in Las Vegas last month. On January 3, 41-year-old Adrian Rodriguez-Guillen shot and killed his ex-wife’s new partner, Adriana Herrera, 40. Rodriguez-Guillen also injured his ex-wife, who was caught in the crossfire. He has been charged with murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, and burglary. The shooting took place near Blanton and Sacks Drive, and authorities arrived just before 5 pm to find the two women injured.
